Detour Lake Mine

Detour Gold had first approached A+I to provide continuous improvement support through their reliability program. A+I was subsequently tasked to look into operational cost reduction throughout the mining operation as well as procurement of contracts. A+I also led a focused 5S effort to better organize key workspaces that were left cluttered from the time the Detour project was first implemented. In addition, A+I executed a DMAIC project in the processing plant to drive stability improvements through creation of better grade-recovery models. Finally, A+I updated the mining and processing MTCU modules (Ontario Ministry of Labour Training) to create a training program for the client that was geared towards adult learning techniques and helped the client ensure that relevant personnel was trained adequately through all Ministry requirements.
